Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide Renders Surface Online; Wider Display, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC

Samsung is working on a book-style foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide (codenamed H8, model number SM-F971U), which has appeared in its first batch of renders, courtesy of @OnLeaks. Unlike the regular Fold variant, this model features a broader display format, resembling devices such as the first Google Pixel Fold and the OPPO Find N2.
The leak follows recent reports suggesting that Samsung may discontinue Galaxy Z TriFold sales just three months after its debut.

According to the renders, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide could sport a 5.4-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch internal display, slightly smaller than the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8. The images indicate a dual-camera setup and a centered punch-hole cutout on both the inner and outer displays.
In terms of dimensions, the device is tipped to measure 123.9 x 161.4 x 4.9mm when unfolded and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8mm when folded, with a camera bump thickness of 14.6mm. It is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide is likely to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at Samsung’s Unpacked event, anticipated in August. The device is rumored to carry a price tag of around USD 2,000 (approximately Rs. 1,87,920).
